<\/a><\/p>\nPickled Eggs:<\/strong><\/p>\nYou will need:<\/strong><\/p>\nA glass jar with lid that will hold 12-18 boiled eggs.
\n12-18 hard boiled eggs, shelled
\nSmall can of beets, drained, with liquid reserved
\n(check ingredients to be sure sugar is not an ingredient. Beets labeled “pickled beets” contain sugar)<\/em>
\nReserved beet liquid
\n2 pints cider vinegar
\n1 Tbs. salt
\n1\/2 tsp. black pepper
\n1 small Tabasco pepper, from pepper sauce container, or several drops of Tabasco pepper sauce<\/p>\nProcedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Clean and rinse with hot water a glass jar with lid that will hold 12-18 boiled eggs.<\/li>\n
- Shell boiled eggs while still warm<\/li>\n
- Put beets (sliced or whole) in bottom of jar. Reserve the beet liquid.<\/li>\n
- Place shelled eggs into jar on top of beets<\/li>\n
- Combine following ingredients in sauce pan and heat:
\nReserved beet liquid
\nCider vinegar
\nSalt
\nBlack pepper
\nTabasco pepper or pepper sauce<\/li>\n - Pour pickling solution over eggs in jar so that eggs are covered.<\/li>\n
- Seal with lid<\/li>\n
- Store in the refrigerator at least two days before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
